The forefathersAt the beginning of the 20th century, August, Christoph's great-great-grandfather, began to produce his dark, strong mustard. With his horse and wooden cart, he began delivering his sauces to local butchers, grocers and fishmongers in the Antwerp region. He always kept a small barrel with him for individuals who wanted to buy a small quantity of mustard from him.
Takeover by HenriThe family business was then taken over by the son, Henri, who extended the premises in order to produce a new range of products: vinegar pickles (gherkins, small onions, pickles). He was later joined by his son August, who opened a vinegar factory a few years later.
Takeover by AugustHenri died a few years later and August took over the business completely then, but he, too, died a few years later. His widow and 16-year-old son Marc took over the business, and his brother Paul later joined him.
New factoryA new factory was built in the Antwerp province, and the family eventually sold its shares.

TODAY

In 2011, Christoph Pauwels, August’s great-great grandson, founded Fresh & Saucy Foods. The company took over the operations of Culin’Arte, a salad spread manufacturer. The same year, he decided to invest in new, modern production lines and the company began to produce its own sauces for salad preparation.  Since 2014, the range of sauces was extended to include all the traditional Belgian sauces.

It is with his dedicated and passionate team of professionals that he serves hundreds of customers around the world.
