We are pleased to announce that for the fifth year in a row we have achieved VCDO certification in line with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals. This certificate recognizes our continuous commitment to sustainability and our contribution to a better world. Our new certificate is valid through June 30, 2024, and we are committed to continuing our efforts.
The VCDO certificate is an important milestone for our company, as it underlines our commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. As a company, we understand that it is our responsibility to have a positive impact on society and the environment. By participating in the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we contribute to global efforts to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide an ambitious framework for tackling issues such as poverty, inequality, climate change and more. As a company, we have developed strategies and initiatives to contribute to various SDGs. These include:
- Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12): We have succeeded in making our secondary packaging more sustainable. The consumption of our plastic wrapping film has decreased by 40%.
- Partnership to achieve objectives (SDG 17): Through a study in collaboration with our supplier, we have been able to significantly reduce our soap consumption, with a positive effect on our water purification as a result.
- Industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9): By continuing to focus on further digitization, we ensure greater ease of use for our operators. In addition to reducing the paper mill, we now always ensure that they have the right information in the right place.
- Good health and well-being (SDG 3 and 4): We are increasing the safety of our maintenance employees through a new safety brochure and by focusing on additional training and courses.
The VCDO certification achieved is an appreciation for our sustainability efforts and our efforts to contribute to the UN SDGs. We are proud of our achievements and we will continue to work to strengthen our sustainability efforts and create a positive impact on the world around us.
